Prevent bank account from frauds during Tet holidays

Dear Valued Customers,

As the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday approaches, the demand for shopping and payment through bank accounts tend to increase strongly. At the same time, cybercriminals also increase their activities with scamming/exploiting customers. Here are some common tactics used by fraudsters and ways to avoid them.

  1. Imitation of bank SMS messages with content requesting you to access a fake link (usually a link similar to the original to make confusing) and connect to a fake website.
  2. Impersonation of the bank on platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, Instagram, etc., using the bank name, logo, avatar, etc., leading you to trust them. From there, the fraudster performs deceptive actions such as inviting you to place saving account with attractive interest rates, requesting you to provide ID or requiring you to pay fees in advance to disburse, etc.
  3. Exploitation of your information, borrowing bank accounts, cards, and e-wallets to perform illegal money transfers such as gambling, sports betting, etc.

To avoid being scammed by the above tactics, kindly be noted the following:

  • Carefully check the received messages and directly enter the bank's name into the browser to search instead of clicking on suspicious links.
  • Do not disclose personal information, user name, passwords, and OTP codes, etc. to any individuals or organizations.
  • Do not act on behalf of anyone else to open bank accounts, cards, or register for internet banking services, etc.
  • Do not allow your bank accounts, cards, electronic wallets, etc. to be used by third parties.

When you detect signs of fraud, please contact our Hotline number: Customer service 18001198, Card & E-banking Service 24/7 1800599930 or PBVN Branches/Transaction Bureaus for further assistance.

Yours truly,
