THE RISK OF LOSING CONTROL OF MOBILE DEVICES DUE TO UNUSUAL ACTIVITY IN THE BANK ACCOUNT

Dear Valued Customers,

Public Bank Vietnam (PBVN) would like to alert you of the increasing sophistication of fraudulent activities and personal information breaches via mobile devices, leading to severe consequences of fraudulent loss.

When fraudsters obtain possession of customer’s account number or phone number, they may intentionally enter incorrect passwords multiple times to lock the user’s account. Subsequently, they may impersonate bank staff, contacting and guiding customer to perform actions such as installing malicious applications or accessing hyperlinks to gain remote control of the mobile device.

To ensure protection against this risk, PBVN would like to advise you:

• PBVN do not ask for your account information through phone calls. Absolutely do not disclose Smart OTP, one-time passwords, log-in passwords, or any other personal information to anyone, including bank staff.
• Caution with doubtful calls or messages requesting personal information, application installation, or website access.
• Only download and install applications from official app stores (App Store, Google Play)
• Regularly update software and applications to patch security vulnerabilities.
