PBVN’s Contribution to Vietnam’s National Covid-19 Vaccine Fund

On 05 June 2021, the Prime Minister of Vietnam launched Vietnam’s National Covid-19 Vaccine Fund aimed at securing 150 million doses of vaccines to immunize 75 per cent of its population by end of 2021. Managed by State Treasury - Ministry of Finance, the fund was established to mobilise social resources for the purchase and import of vaccines as well as research, development and production of domestic vaccines.

In support of the Government’s initiative, Public Bank Vietnam (PBVN) raised awareness among all level of staff by initiating a donation campaign at Head Office and branches to contribute voluntarily to the national Covid-19 vaccine fund and participate in the Vietnamese Government’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Upon closing of the 05 days fundraising drive from 17 to 23 June 2021, PBVN raised a total amount of VND228 million, comprising of the Bank’s contribution of VND100 million and VND128 million generously collected from PBVN staff.

In recognition of the corporate sector’s contribution and participation in assisting the Vietnamese Government in battling the pandemic and increasing the availability of Covid-19 vaccine in particular, the authorized representative of National Covid-19 Vaccine Fund – Vietnam State Treasury conducted  sponsorship acknowledgement sessions. On 16 July 2021, around 18 representatives of respective contributing corporations from different business sectors were invited to the event including PBVN represented by Mr Chee Keng Eng, General Director and Mr. Dao Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director. At the event, Mr. Chee Keng Eng delivered PBVN’s donation cheque of VND228,000,000 to the Director of National Covid-19 Vaccine Fund and was granted a certificate of acknowledgment for PBNV’s contribution to the fund
